Crock Pot Beef And Mushroom Stew Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (10 1/2 oz) can French onion soup .
  • 3 c mushrooms, cut in half (about 10 oz.) .
  • 1 1/4 c water .
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced .
  • 1 c whole white baby onions .
  • ground black pepper .
  • 1 1/2 lbs boneless beef bottom round steaks or chuck roast, cut into 1-inch pieces .
  • 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning, crushed .
  • 3 medium carrots, cut into 2-inch pieces (about 1/2 lb.) .
  • 1/4 c flour .
  • 2 tbsps vegetable oil

Directions
  • Step #1 Pepper beef & coat with 2 tbsps flour.
  • Step #2 Heat oil in large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Step #3 Add beef & cook this until browned, stirring often.
  • Step #4 Mix beef, garlic, soup, mushrooms, Italian seasoning, carrots & onions in 3 1/2-quart slow cooker (aka crockpot).
  • Step #5 Cover up & cook on high heat 6-8 hrs or until beef is fork-tender.
  • Step #6 MIX remaining flour & water & stir flour mixture into cooker.
  • Step #7 Cover up & cook 15 min or until slightly thickened.
