Garam Masala Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 tsps cardamom seeds .
  • 1/2 c coriander seeds .
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg or freshly grated nutmeg .
  • 1/4 c cinnamon sticks .
  • 1 tsp fenugreek seeds .
  • 2 bay leaves .
  • 1 tbsp red pepper flakes .
  • 3 tbsps whole cloves .
  • 1/4 c cumin seeds .
  • 1 tsp turmeric .
  • 1/4 c black peppercorns

Directions
  • Step #1 Place all the spices, except the turmeric, nutmeg, & red pepper flakes, on a baking sheet.
  • Step #2 Bake at 275 for 10 mins, or until all smell fragrant.
  • Step #3 Place in a food processor/blender & grind as fine as you can.
  • Step #4 You may have to break up the cinnamon stick pieces by hand.
  • Step #5 Then add ALL the ingredients to a food mixer & grind away.
  • Step #6 Moving the spices from a food processor/blender to a mixer will allow you to get a finer grind.
  • Step #7 Store in a sealed glass jar.
