Beef Brisket In A Mushroom Wine Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3/4 c dry red wine .
  • 1/4 c cold water .
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard .
  • 1 tbsp olive oil .
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced .
  • 1 lb mushrooms, cut into quarters .
  • 3/4 tsp groarsely ground pepper .
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced .
  • 3 tbsps cornstarch .
  • 4-5 lbs beef brisket, fat removed

Directions
  • Step #1 Sprinkle top beef with 1/2 tsp of pepper.
  • Step #2 Heat oil in frying pan; brown brisket on all sides.
  • Step #3 In crock pot, garlic, add onion, mushrooms with rosemary & pepper sprinkled on top.
  • Step #4 Place brisket on top of vegetables.
  • Step #5 Mix wine & mustard; pour over brisket.
  • Step #6 Cover up & cook on Low for 8 - 10 hrs.
  • Step #7 Place brisket on a platter & keep warm.
  • Step #8 Skim of fat from cooking liquid & discard.
  • Step #9 Blend cornstarch & water.
  • Step #10 Turn crock pot to High & slowly pour in cornstarch mixture; mix well.
  • Step #11 Cover up & cook for extra 2 to 3 mins or until sauce is thickened.
  • Step #12 Slice brisket across the grain.
  • Step #13 Serve with gravy.
