Bakehouse Rice Maker Barley Risotto Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c pearl barley .
  • 1/2 c red peppers, coarsely sliced .
  • 3/4 c sliced mushrooms .
  • 1 c cooked red beans (watch the salt if you use canned beans) .
  • 2 tsps red miso or 1/2 tsp sea salt .
  • 4 c water .
  • 1 tsp morton's nature's seasoning .
  • 1/4 c soy milk (for a creamier feel to the sauce) or 1 tbsp plain soy milk powder (for a creamier feel to the sauce) .
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced .
  • 1 1/2 tbsps frontier brand vegetable stock powder .
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary or thyme .
  • 1 1/2 c sliced sweet onions .
  • 1 1/2 tbsps nutritional yeast flakes

Directions
  • Step #1 To make this recipe place the ingredients in the rice maker in any order, put on the lid, give it a stir, & push the cook button.
  • Step #2 Dori served it with reitan roast & green beans.
