Maple Mustard Pork Chops With Grilled Apples Recipe

Ingredients
  • 3 golden delicious apples, sliced across into 1/2-inch rounds, with core & peel intact .
  • 1/2 lemon, juice of .
  • 8 center-cut boneless pork loin chops (1/2- to 3/4-inch thick) .
  • McCormick's Montreal Brand steak seasoning .
  • extra-virgin olive oil .
  • 1/2 tsp freshly grated nutmeg .
  • 4 tbsps spicy brown mustard .
  • 1/4 c apple cider .
  • 1 tsp ground cumin .
  • 1/2 c dark amber maple syrup .
  • 1/2 tsp allspice .
  • 1/4 medium onion, finely sliced

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat nonstick grill pan over med-high heat; preheat your trusty oven to 350°.
  • Step #2 In a saucepan, allspice, 7-10 mins, mix maple syrup, onion, cider, & cumin; cook over med-heat/flame, until sauce begins to thicken a bit.
  • Step #3 Drizzle chops with oil; season this with steak seasoning; cook on grill pan 3 mins on each side.
  • Step #4 Baste chops liberally with sauce & cook 2-3 mins more, then transfer to a baking sheet.
  • Step #5 Baste again with sauce & place this in a hot oven to finish cooking; bake 10-12 mins.
  • Step #6 Meanwhile coat apple rounds with lemon juice & a drizzle of oil; season this with steak seasoning & a little nutmeg.
  • Step #7 Cover up grill pan surface with as many pieces of apple as possible.
  • Step #8 As the apples get tender, remove & replace with remaining slices.
  • Step #9 Apples should cook 3 mins on each side, as you don’t want them too soft, just tender.
  • Step #10 Serve chops with apples alongside.
