2 (15 1/4 oz) cans green beans (can use 1 bag frozen) .
1 (15 1/4 oz) can chicken broth .
3 medium potatoes .
1/4 tsp black pepper
Directions
Step #1 Cut kielbasa into 1" chunks & place this in Dutch oven or large pan.
Step #2 Add enough water to completely cover the meat & cook on high till it comes to a boil.
Step #3 Meanwhile, peel potatoes & the onion, & cut into eighths; drain the green beans.
Step #4 Let kielbasa boil for 2 mins to extract the grease.
Step #5 Lower the heat & skim off all grease & foam; discard.
Step #6 Turn heat to high again & add vegetables, chicken broth & seasonings to pot; stir this to mix.
Step #7 If necessary, add enough water to bring the liquid level to about 1" below top of the ingredients.
Step #8 Bring to a boil; lower heat to simmer & cover.
Step #9 Cook for 20 mins.
Step #10 Serve in soup bowls with crusty bread, which is delicious dipped into the broth.
Step #11 NOTE: If frozen green beans are used, put them in with the kielbasa to cook for 7 extra mins before adding the potatoes & onion; then cook for 20 more mins.
