Duncan Hines Divine Chocolate Raspberry Sour Cream Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 c water .
  • fresh raspberries .
  • 1/2 c seedless red raspberry jam .
  • 1 (16 oz) container cream cheese frosting .
  • 1 (18 1/4 oz) package devil's food cake mix .
  • 2 c sour cream, divided .
  • 1/3 c vegetable oil .
  • 4 large eggs .
  • 2 (16 oz) containers chocolate frosting

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350.
  • Step #2 Grease & flour two 8-inch round cake pans.
  • Step #3 Blend cake mix, water, oil, eggs & 1 c sour cream in large bowl.
  • Step #4 Beat at lowish speed until moistened, then beat at medium speed for 2 mins.
  • Step #5 Pour into pans & bake according to package directions.
  • Step #6 To assemble, place 1 cake layer on serving platter.
  • Step #7 Spread 3/4 c cream cheese frosting on top of layer.
  • Step #8 Spread jam on top of cream cheese frosting.
  • Step #9 Top with remaining layer of cake.
  • Step #10 Frost top & sides of cake with chocolate frosting.
  • Step #11 To prepare sauce, mix remaining cream cheese frosting & 1 c sour cream in small bowl until smooth & creamy.
  • Step #12 Garnish top of frosted cake with 2-3 tbsp of sauce in center & fresh rasperries.
  • Step #13 Place 2 tbsps sauce on center of each serving plate & top this with slice of cake.
  • Step #14 Garnish with fresh raspberries, if desired.
