Chocolate Sour Cherry Cake
Ingredients
1 tsp baking soda
1 c sour milk
1 3/4 c all-purpose flour
1 c white sugar
1/4 c plain yogurt
1 (1 oz) square unsweetened baking chocolate
1/4 c butter
1 egg
1 (4 oz) jar maraschino cherries
Directions
Step #1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Step #2 Grease & flour a 9x13 inch pan.
Step #3 In the top of a double boiler, heat chocolate, stirring every once in awhile, until chocolate is melted & smooth.
Step #4 Remove from heat & allow this to cool to lukewarm.
Step #5 In a large bowl, cream together the butter & sugar until light & fluffy.
Step #6 Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the the yogurt, melted chocolate & cherries with juice.
Step #7 Stir together the flour & baking soda & beat into the creamed mixture alternately with the sour milk.
Step #8 Pour batter into prepared pan.
Step #9 Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 40 mins, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
Step #10 Allow to cool.
