Chocolate Cherry Cakev Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 c sour milk
  • 1 3/4 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 c white sugar
  • 1/4 c plain yogurt
  • 1 (1 oz) square unsweetened baking chocolate
  • 1/4 c butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 (4 oz) jar maraschino cherries

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Step #2 Grease & flour a 9x13 inch pan.
  • Step #3 In the top of a double boiler, heat chocolate, stirring every once in awhile, until chocolate is melted & smooth.
  • Step #4 Remove from heat & allow this to cool to lukewarm.
  • Step #5 In a large bowl, cream together the butter & sugar until light & fluffy.
  • Step #6 Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the the yogurt, melted chocolate & cherries with juice.
  • Step #7 Stir together the flour & baking soda & beat into the creamed mixture alternately with the sour milk.
  • Step #8 Pour batter into prepared pan.
  • Step #9 Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 40 mins, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  • Step #10 Allow to cool.
