Cinnamon Vanilla Sauce For Fresh Fruit Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 cinnamon sticks .
  • ground cinnamon (optional) .
  • 1/2 c sugar .
  • 1 (12 oz) can evaporated milk .
  • 6 c fresh fruit, cut into bite sized pieces .
  • 1 1/2 tsps vanilla .
  • 2 tbsps cornstarch

Directions
  • Step #1 Combine sugar, cornstarch, & cinnamon sticks in a medium saucepan.
  • Step #2 Gradually stir in the evaporated milk.
  • Step #3 Cookover med-heat/flame, stirring constantly, until mixture comes just to a boil & slightly thickens.
  • Step #4 Remove from heat & remove cinnamon sticks; stir in the vanilla.
  • Step #5 Refrigerate for 2 hrs until well chilled.
  • Step #6 Arrange fruit in serving dishes.
  • Step #7 Top with sauce & sprinkle with cinnamon if desired.
  • Step #8 Refrigerate leftover sauce up to 4 days.
