Annacia's Spice Islands Hot Chocolate (lighter) Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsps cocoa .
  • 3/4 c evaporated skim milk .
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract .
  • 1/4 tsp ground allspice .
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract .
  • 1/2 c Cool Whip Free, for garnish .
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg .
  • 2 oz unsweetened chocolate .
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon .
  • 1 tbsp non-fat powdered milk (optional) .
  • 1/2 c Splenda granular .
  • 4 c skim milk

Directions
  • Step #1 Melt chocolate in 1 c of skim milk, over low heat/flame, stirring constantly.
  • Step #2 Whisk in the nonfat powdered dry milk breaking up any bumps.
  • Step #3 (Not required but it gives the milk a little more body.
  • Step #4 ).
  • Step #5 Gradually add in the remaining milk, & the spices.
  • Step #6 Cook over med-heat/flame, stirring constantly, until completely heated.
  • Step #7 Add in the extracts & Splenda.
  • Step #8 Serve topped with Cool Whip Free & sprinkled with extra nutmeg.
