Donnalee's Birthday Quiche Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 c fresh mushrooms, thinly sliced .
  • 1/4-1/2 c cheese, shredded .
  • salt, to taste .
  • 1/4 c green onions, sliced .
  • 1 (9 inch) pie pastry .
  • 1/4 c fresh broccoli florets, sliced .
  • 1/4 tsp horseradish (using a household flatware tsp to measure) .
  • 1/4 c zucchini, thinly sliced .
  • 3/4 c heavy cream .
  • 1/4 c red peppers, julienned .
  • pepper, to taste .
  • 3-4 large eggs .
  • 1-2 tbsp butter or olive oil, for sauteeing, as needed .
  • 1/4 c onions, sliced .
  • 3/4 c milk

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Step #2 Partially bake the pie pastry in a 9" pie plate (ungreased) for 5 mins.
  • Step #3 Sautee a mixture of veggies in butter or oil until soft & tender but not mushy, seasoning them a bit to taste with salt & pepper.
  • Step #4 Sprinkle top a small amount of the cheese on the bottom of the pie pastry.
  • Step #5 Sprinkle top the veggies over the cheese, then sprinkle with the rest of the cheese.
  • Step #6 Combine eggs, cream, milk, as much salt & pepper as you like to add.
  • Step #7 Take an ordinary tsp from your flatware drawer (not ameasuring spoon) & take about 1/4 tsp ish & add to the egg mixture.
  • Step #8 Mix well & pour over the veggies & the cheese.
  • Step #9 Bake at 375 F for about 40 mins or until set.
