Dot's Hummus Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c tahini .
  • 1/4-1/3 c reserved juices (from drained chickpea can) .
  • 1 large garlic clove, minced .
  • 3-4 tbsps lemon juice (bottled or fresh) .
  • 1 (15 oz) can chickpeas, drained (save juice)

Directions
  • Step #1 Combine the chickpeas, garlic, tahini, & lemon juice in a food processor/blender.
  • Step #2 Process until smooth.
  • Step #3 Slowly pour in 1/4 c juice from chickpean can & process again.
  • Step #4 Check consistency: it should be spreadable, not runny.
  • Step #5 Add more chickpea can juice if it is too thick.
  • Step #6 Scrape it into a bowl.
  • Step #7 Refrigerate overnight.
