Hot Beef Sandwich Au Jus Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (1 oz) package dry onion soup mix .
  • 1 (4-5 lb) rump roast .
  • 1 tsp dried oregano leaves .
  • 16 onion hamburger buns, split .
  • 2 (10 1/2 oz) cans condensed beef broth .
  • 1 (12 oz) can beer or non-alcoholic beer .
  • 2 tsps sugar .
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

Directions
  • Step #1 Place beef roast in 3 1/2 to 4 quart slow cooker (aka crockpot).
  • Step #2 In medium bowl, mix all remmaining ingredients except buns.
  • Step #3 Pour over beef.
  • Step #4 Cover up & cook on low setting for 8 to 10 hrs.
  • Step #5 Remove beef from slow cooker (aka crockpot); place on cutting board or large plate.
  • Step #6 Slice beef with a knife or shred using 2 forks.
  • Step #7 Place meat on buns.
  • Step #8 If desired, skim fat from juices in slow cooker (aka crockpot) (how much fat present will depend on the cut of meat).
  • Step #9 Serve sandwiches with individual portions of juice for dipping.
