Bbq Chicken Yakitori Kebabs Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, finely sliced .
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil .
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed .
  • 3 tbsps shoyu (Japanese Soy Sauce) or soy sauce .
  • 3 tbsps sake or dry sherry .
  • 2 tsps clear honey .
  • 500 g skinless chicken breasts, cut into 2 cm cubes .
  • 4 large spring onions, cut across into 30 pieces .
  • 1 large green capsicum, seeded & cut into 30 small cubes .
  • Marinate

Directions
  • Step #1 Place the shoyu/soy, sake or sherry, garlic, sesame oil, ginger & honey in a shallow dish & stir this together to mix.
  • Step #2 Add the chicken pieces & spoon the marinade over them.
  • Step #3 Cover up & chill for at least 1 hr or overnight.
  • Step #4 Preheat the barbecue flat plate.
  • Step #5 Soak 30 small bamboo skewers in cold water for 30 mins, to provent them from burning on the barbecue.
  • Step #6 Thread about 2 pieces of chicken onto the skewers, alternating with one piece of capsicum & one of spring onions, threaded widthways.
  • Step #7 Cook the kebabs for about 10-15 mins, or until cooked through, turning from time to time & brushing with the marinade.
