Delmonico Potatoes Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tsps dried parsley
  • 5 large potatoes
  • 2 tbsps minced onion
  • 2 tsps salt
  • 1 (16 oz) container sour cream
  • 1 c shredded processed cheese
  • 1 1/2 c milk
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 3/8 c butter

Directions
  • Step #1 Bring a large pot of salted water to boil, place potatoes in the boiling water.
  • Step #2 Let potatoes cook this until they are just becoming tender, approximately 8 to 10 mins.
  • Step #3 Refrigerate the potatoes overnight.
  • Step #4 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Step #5 Grate the potatoes.
  • Step #6 In a small bowl, mix 1 tsp parsley, 1/4 tsp pepper, 1 tsp salt, 1 tbsp minced onion, & 1/2 of the butter or margarine.
  • Step #7 In a separate small bowl, mix sour cream & milk.
  • Step #8 Layer 1/2 of the grated potatoes into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  • Step #9 Sprinkle top the dried spice mixture over the layer of potatoes.
  • Step #10 Pour 1/2 of the sour cream & milk mixture over the potatoes & butter layers.
  • Step #11 Top this layer with 1/2 c of processed cheese spread.
  • Step #12 Repeat the layering process one more time.
  • Step #13 Bake the casserole for one hr.
