Ingredients
  • 1 c packed brown sugar .
  • 1/2 c butter, softened .
  • 2 1/4 c quick-cooking oats .
  • 1 c sliced nuts .
  • 1 tsp baking soda .
  • 1/2 c shortening .
  • 72 milk chocolate Hershey's chocolate kisses .
  • 2 c flour .
  • 1 c sugar .
  • 2 eggs .
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Step #2 In a mixing bowl, cream the butter, shortening & sugars.
  • Step #3 Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Step #4 Combine the flour, baking soda & salt; slowly add to creamed mixture.
  • Step #5 Stir in oats & nuts.
  • Step #6 Roll into 1 inch balls.
  • Step #7 Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
  • Step #8 Bake for 10-12 mins or until lightly browned.
  • Step #9 Immediately press a chocolate kiss in the center of each cookie.
  • Step #10 Remove to wire racks.
