Pork Chops In Orange Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour .
  • 1 1/2-2 tsps seasoning salt .
  • 1/2 tsp pepper .
  • 6 cloves, whole .
  • 3/4 tsp paprika .
  • 4-6 pork chops, 1-inch thick .
  • 2 tbsps all-purpose flour, & .
  • 1 1/2 tsps sugar .
  • 4-6 orange slices, garnish .
  • 3/4 c orange juice .
  • 1 tsp orange peel, shredded

Directions
  • Step #1 1 1/2 hrs before serving, coat pork chops in about 2 tbsps flour.
  • Step #2 In a 1-12 inch skillet, greased with some of the pork chop fat rubbed over it, add the chops & cook this until well browned on both sides.
  • Step #3 In a c, stir tne orange juice & remaining ingrediets EXCEPT for the orange slices & the 1 tbsps flour; & pour over the chops in the pan; heat until boiling & then reduce to low heat.
  • Step #4 Cover up & let simmer about 50 mins or until fork tender, turning chops every once in awhile.
  • Step #5 Add the orange slices during the last 5 mins of cooking time.
  • Step #6 When chops are done, remove to a warm platter.
  • Step #7 Pour the liquid from the skillet into a 1 c measure; remove fat from liquid & discard cloves.
  • Step #8 Add water to liquid until it reaches a full 1 c if necessary.
  • Step #9 Return this liquid to the skillet.
  • Step #10 In a c, mix 1 tbsp flour & 2 tbsps cold water until smooth, slowly stir this into the liquid in the pan & cook over med-heat/flame, stirring, until thickened.
  • Step #11 Serve with the chops.
