Ingredients
  • 1/2 c packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsps vanilla extract
  • 8 c sliced, peeled tart cooking apples

Directions
  • Step #1 In a Dutch oven, mix all the ingredients.
  • Step #2 Cover & cook over medium-low heat for 30 to 40 mins or until apples are tender, stirring every once in awhile.
  • Step #3 Remove from the heat; mash apples (a potato masher works well) until sauce is desired consistency.
  • Step #4 Serve warm or cold.
