Black And White Ice Cream Tart Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp butter, melted .
  • 2 pints vanilla ice cream, left on counter for 30 mins .
  • 24 chocolate sandwich style cookies

Directions
  • Step #1 Coarsely chop six cookies, set aside.
  • Step #2 Process 10 cookies in food processor/blender until fine crumbs form.
  • Step #3 Add butter & process until mixd.
  • Step #4 Transfer to springform pan.
  • Step #5 Press crust firmly into pan.
  • Step #6 Place 8 cookies around the perimeter, leaving 1/2 inch border at edge of pan.
  • Step #7 Dollop ice cream evenly over entire crust using a 1/4 c measuring c.
  • Step #8 Using a rubber spatula, spread the ice cream so that it forms a smooth, even layer.
  • Step #9 Sprinkle top reserved sliced cookies around outer inch of cake forming a border all around the edge of the cake.
  • Step #10 Freeze for 4 hrs.
  • Step #11 Can be made up to a week in advance if covered in plastic wrap.
  • Step #12 To unmold, run a warm damp cloth or sponge around outside of springform pan.
  • Step #13 Lift removable bottom out of pan & transfer for serving plate.
