Ila's Orange Drop Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

1 tbsp grated orange rind .
2 c powdered sugar .
1/2 tsp baking powder .
2/3 c shortening .
1/2 c orange juice concentrate .
3/4 c sugar .
2 tbsps orange juice .
1 egg .
2 tbsps grated orange rind .
2 c flour .
1/2 tsp salt .
Icing .
2 tbsps butter .
1/2 tsp baking soda

Directions

Step #1 Preheat oven to 400F degrees.
Step #2 Mix shortening, sugar & egg.
Step #3 Stir in orange juice & rind.
Step #4 Blend dry ingredients; stir in theches Drop rounded tspsful 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
Step #5 Bake for 8-10 mins.
Step #6 Frost with orange butter icing: mix powdered sugar & butter.
Step #7 Stir in orange rind & orange juice until smooth.
