Casseroled Meatballs Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tsps French mustard .
  • 1 tbsp tomato puree .
  • salt & pepper, for seasoning .
  • 2 sticks celery, sliced .
  • 1 lb minced beef or ground lamb .
  • 2 slices brown bread, crumbed .
  • 4 oz button mushrooms .
  • 2 carrots, sliced .
  • 1/2 pint stock .
  • 2 tbsps olive oil .
  • 1 tsp worcestershire sauce .
  • 14 oz tomatoes, sliced .
  • 1/4 tsp chili sauce (tabasco) .
  • 1 garlic clove, sliced .
  • 1 onion, sliced

Directions
  • Step #1 Mix the meat with the bread crumbs, garlic, Worcester, onion, mustard, & chilli sauces.
  • Step #2 Divide the mix into 12 pieces & form into balls with your hands.
  • Step #3 Heat the oil In a large-ish pan & fry the meatballs for 5 mins till btown.
  • Step #4 Remove them from the pan & drain them on kitchen paper.
  • Step #5 Fry the celery & carrot for 5 mins.
  • Step #6 Add the mushrooms, stock & tomato puree, tomatoes, stir well & add the meatballs.
  • Step #7 Bring to the boil, reduce heat & let simmer covered for 15 mins.
  • Step #8 Serve withh boiled rice.
