Italian Casserole (rigatoni And Cheese With Tomato Sauce) Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tsps dried oregano (or to taste) .
  • 1/2 c butter, melted (1 stick) .
  • 3 garlic cloves, sliced .
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil .
  • 1 lb rigatoni pasta or elbow macaroni .
  • 2 (15 oz) cans tomato sauce .
  • 1 lb swiss cheese or mozzarella cheese, sliced thin .
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Step #2 In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook rigatoni according to package directions until al dente; drain.
  • Step #3 Combine tomato sauce with seasonings, uncovered, & let simmer, for 10 minuntes.
  • Step #4 Add sauce to pasta & toss to coat.
  • Step #5 In a baking dish, arrange pasta & cheese in layers, ending with cheese.
  • Step #6 Pour melted butter over all.
  • Step #7 Bake, covered, for 15 mins.
  • Step #8 Uncover, & bake for another 15 mins.
