Christine's Quick Rum Cake Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (18 1/2 oz) package yellow cake mix .
  • 1 c pecans, sliced .
  • 4 large eggs .
  • 1/2 c water .
  • 1/2 c unsalted butter (1 stick) .
  • 1/2 c dry light rum .
  • 1 c granulated sugar .
  • 1/2 c Crisco cooking oil .
  • Sauce .
  • 2 oz dry light rum .
  • 1/4 c water .
  • 1 (3 1/2 oz) package French vanilla instant pudding

Directions
  • Step #1 Sprinkle top nuts on the bottom of a greased Bundt pan.
  • Step #2 Mix together cake mix, oil, pudding mix, water, & rum.
  • Step #3 Beat in eggs one at a time.
  • Step #4 Pour batter into pan & bake 1 hr at 325F F (preheated).
  • Step #5 Let cool.
  • Step #6 For the sauce, sugar, boil butter, water,and rum together in a saucepan.
  • Step #7 Pour over the cake while still in the pan.
  • Step #8 This will soak into the cake.
  • Step #9 Let cake cool completely before removing from pan.
