Chai Latte Brownies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 tsp salt .
  • 1/3 c packed brown sugar .
  • 2 large eggs .
  • 1 tsp baking powder .
  • 1/4 c semi-sweet chocolate chips .
  • 1/4 c 1% low-fat milk .
  • 1 (1 inch) cinnamon sticks .
  • cooking spray .
  • 1 1/2 c flour .
  • 3 cardamom pods, crushed .
  • 1 c sugar .
  • 1/2 c unsweetened cocoa .
  • 3 whole cloves .
  • 3 whole allspice, crushed .
  • 1/4 c butter

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Step #2 Combine first 5 ingredients in a small saucepan; bring to a boil.
  • Step #3 Cover up, remove this from heat, & let this stand 15 mins.
  • Step #4 Strain milk mixture through a fine sieve into a large microwave-safe bowl; discard solids.
  • Step #5 Add chocolate chips & butter to milk mixture; microwave at HIGH 20 seconds or until chips & butter melt, stirring until smooth.
  • Step #6 Cool slightly; add eggs, stirring with a whisk.
  • Step #7 Combine flour & the next 5 ingredients (through salt) in a medium bowl, stirring with a whisk.
  • Step #8 Add flour mixture to chocolate mixture, stirring just until mixd.
  • Step #9 Spread evenly into a 9-inch square baking pan coated with cooking spray.
  • Step #10 Bake for 30 mins or until center is set.
  • Step #11 Cool 10 mins in pan on a wire rack.
