Chocolate Cream Pie Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 3/4 c milk .
  • 2 tbsps powdered sugar .
  • 1/4 c cornstarch .
  • 1 c heavy cream .
  • 1 tbsp butter .
  • 1 c sugar .
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract .
  • 3 (1 oz) unsweetened chocolate squares, sliced .
  • 1/4 tsp salt .
  • 1 (9 inch) pie crusts, baked .
  • 3 large egg yolks

Directions
  • Step #1 Mix sugar, cornstarch, & salt In a large-ish saucepan.
  • Step #2 Add milk, bring to a boil for 1 min over med-heat/flame.
  • Step #3 Beat egg yolks.
  • Step #4 Whisk 1 c hot pie filling into beaten egg yolks & pour back into saucepan whisking until mixed.
  • Step #5 Return to a boil for 1 min.
  • Step #6 Remove saucepan from heat & add chocolate, butter, & vanilla.
  • Step #7 Pour into prebaked pie crust.
  • Step #8 Cool 15 mins.
  • Step #9 Cover up & put in the fridge at least 3 hrs.
  • Step #10 When ready to serve beat together heavy cream & powdered sugar.
  • Step #11 Spread on top of pie.
