Cheese Galette With Balsamic Gravy Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tsps baking powder .
  • 5 1/2 oz blue cheese .
  • 2 tbsps olive oil .
  • For the topping .
  • 10 oz plain flour .
  • For the cheese galette .
  • 3 1/2 fluid oz red wine .
  • 2 tbsps white wine .
  • 2 fluid oz balsamic vinegar .
  • For the balsamic sauce .
  • 1/2 pint full-fat milk

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 200C/400°F.
  • Step #2 Place the flour, baking powder & oil into a food processor/blender & mix together.
  • Step #3 Add the milk & mix to form a smooth dough.
  • Step #4 Using a rolling pin on a floured surface, roll the pastry out to 1-inch thickness.
  • Step #5 Using a plate as a guide, cut out a 8-inch circle & place onto a non-stick baking sheet.
  • Step #6 Reserve some of the dough for later.
  • Step #7 Using the excess dough, roll eight small balls & place evenly around the outside of the dough circle to decorate.
  • Step #8 Crumble the blue cheese into the circle & drizzle with the white wine.
  • Step #9 Place into the preheated oven for 15 mins, or until golden & cooked through.
  • Step #10 Remove from the oven & place on a large warm plate.
  • Step #11 Meanwhile, for the balsamic sauce, place the red wine & balsamic vinegar in a saucepan over a medium heat.
  • Step #12 Bring to the boil then simmer until the sauce becomes thick & glossy.
  • Step #13 To serve, pour the balsamic sauce around the cheese galette.
