Ingredients

1 c sugar
1 c butterscotch chips
1/2 c packed brown sugar
1 c packed brown sugar
1/2 c sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 c all-purpose flour
4 c crisp rice cereal, divided
6 tbsps butter or margarine, softened
TOPPING:
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
6 tbsps butter flavored shortening

Directions

Step #1 In a mixing bowl, cream butter, shortening & sugars.
Step #2 Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Step #3 Beat in vanilla.
Step #4 Crush 2 c of cereal; add flour, baking soda & baking powder.
Step #5 Gradually add to the creamed mixture.
Step #6 Stir in butterscotch chips & remaining cereal.
Step #7 Combine topping ingredients in a small bowl.
Step #8 Roll dough into 1-1/4-in.
Step #9 balls, then roll in topping.
Step #10 Place 2 in.
Step #11 apart on ungreased baking sheets; flatten slightly with glass.
Step #12 Bake at 350 degrees F for 10-12 mins or until golden brown.
Step #13 Cool for 1 min before removing to wire racks.
