Sarah's Apple Pie Filling Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tsp salt .
  • 4 1/2 c sugar .
  • 6-7 quarts apples, peeled & sliced .
  • 2 tbsps cinnamon .
  • 1 c cornstarch .
  • 10 c water .
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg .
  • 3 tbsps lemon juice

Directions
  • Step #1 Pack 6-7 quart jars with apples, tightly.
  • Step #2 Mix the first 5 ingredients.
  • Step #3 Add water & lemon juice.
  • Step #4 Cook until it thickens & clears.
  • Step #5 Pour over apples, leaving an inch of head space.
  • Step #6 Process in water bath canner for 35 mins.
