Apricot Mazurka Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 c butter .
  • FILLING .
  • 3/4 c oats .
  • CRUST .
  • 1 1/2 c unbleached flour .
  • 1/4 c maple syrup .
  • 1/2 c water .
  • 1/2 c maple syrup .
  • 1 c walnuts or pecans .
  • 24 dried apricots (halved)

Directions
  • Step #1 Simmer apricots in water about 1 hr.
  • Step #2 Let cool to lukewarm, & add maple syrup.
  • Step #3 Set aside.
  • Step #4 Preheat oven to 325F degrees.
  • Step #5 Cut together crust ingredients.
  • Step #6 Begin by making a well in the flour & then adding other ingredients; mixture will be crumbly.
  • Step #7 Press one half of the dough into the bottom of a lightly oiled 9-inch square pan.
  • Step #8 Pour on apricot filling.
  • Step #9 Sprinkle top on remaining dough.
  • Step #10 Bake at 325F degrees for 1 hr.
  • Step #11 Cool & cut.
