Balti Chicken Khara Masala Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 lbs skinless chicken, & cubed .
  • 1/4 tsp onion seeds .
  • 5 tbsps oil .
  • 1 large tomato, sliced .
  • 1/2 tsp black mustard seeds .
  • 1 tsp salt .
  • 1/2 tsp pomegranate seeds (if you have them) .
  • 5 fresh green chilies, sliced .
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, sliced .
  • 1/4 tsp fennel seeds .
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds .
  • 1 tbsp coriander leaves, sliced .
  • 4 curry leaves .
  • 2 medium onions, sliced .
  • 4 garlic cloves, sliced .
  • 3 dried red chilies, sliced

Directions
  • Step #1 In a bowl mix together the mustard seeds, curry leaves, red chillies, fennel seeds, cumin seeds, pomegranate seeds, onion seeds, salt, ginger & garlic.
  • Step #2 Heat the oil in a wok & fry the spices with the green chillies & the onions, cook for 5 mins.
  • Step #3 Add the tomato & chicken & cook over low heat/flame till the chicken is cooked, about 15 mins.
  • Step #4 Serve garnished with sliced coriander leaves.
