Simple Japanese Stock Recipe

Ingredients
  • 4 inches piece kombu seaweed .
  • 5 c water .
  • 5 dried shiitake mushrooms

Directions
  • Step #1 Wipe kombu with a damp cloth.
  • Step #2 Place all ingredients in a soup pot.
  • Step #3 Bring to a boil.
  • Step #4 Remove from heat Let steep for 1/2 hr.
  • Step #5 Strain & put in the fridge for up to 5 days.
