Shish Kebab Saute Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 lb mushrooms (quartered or sliced) .
  • 1 green pepper (quartered, seeded, & cut into crosswise srips) .
  • MARINADE (thoroughly mix all ingredients) .
  • 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce .
  • 1 dash pepper .
  • 2 tbsps salad oil .
  • 1 garlic clove, minced .
  • 1/4 tsp rosemary, crumbled .
  • salt .
  • 1 tsp onion salt .
  • 1 medium tomato (cut in 8 wedges) .
  • 5 tbsps butter .
  • 2 lbs boneless top round beef .
  • 1 medium onion, quartered & thinly sliced .
  • 1/8 tsp thyme .
  • 1/2 c dry red wine

Directions
  • Step #1 Trim fat & cut steak across the grain into bite-size strips about 1/4 inch thick & 1/4 to 1 inch wide (bite size pieces like in chop steak).
  • Step #2 Place in marinade in a shallow bowl, cover & chill 2-3 hrs or longer.
  • Step #3 Drain meat well on paper towels, reserving marinade for later use.
  • Step #4 Cook onion in 2 tbsps of the butter in large frying pan over med-heat/flame until it is lightly browned.
  • Step #5 Add green pepper, cook stirring until limp & bright green.
  • Step #6 Remove & reserve the vegetables.
  • Step #7 Brown mushrooms in 2 tbsps more butter in the same pan; add to the green pepper mixture.
  • Step #8 In remaining butter, cook steak strips quickly, about a third at a time.
  • Step #9 Return all the steak & vegetables to the pan with tomato wedges & 2 tbsps of the reserved marinade.
  • Step #10 Cook, stirring lightly, just until mixture is heated through.
  • Step #11 Salt to taste.
