Double Orange Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (6 oz) can orange juice concentrate, thawed, divided
  • 1 c sour cream
  • 1 c butter, softened
  • 1 tbsp grated orange peel
  • 1 tbsp reserved orange juice concentrate
  • 1 1/2 c sugar
  • 2 tbsps grated orange peel
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 c confectioners' sugar
  • FROSTING:
  • 4 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsps milk
  • 1 tbsp butter, softened
  • 1 (3 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 2 eggs

Directions
  • Step #1 In a large mixing bowl, cream sugar & butter until light & fluffy.
  • Step #2 Add sour cream & eggs.
  • Step #3 Beat until well mixed.
  • Step #4 Reserve 1 tbsp orange juice concentrate for frosting.
  • Step #5 Add the remaining concentrate with mixd dry ingredients to the creamed mixture; mix well.
  • Step #6 Stir in orange peel.
  • Step #7 Drop by rounded tbspfuls onto lightly greased baking sheets.
  • Step #8 Bake at 350 degrees F for about 10 mins or until edges just begin to brown.
  • Step #9 Remove to wire racks to cool completely.
  • Step #10 In a small mixing bowl, mix all ingredients until smooth.
  • Step #11 Spread a small amount over each cookie.
