Pumpkin Bread From Mom Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tsp ground cloves .
  • 4 c all-purpose flour .
  • 1 tsp salt .
  • 1 c vegetable oil .
  • 2 c dried cranberries (optional) .
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon .
  • 1 tsp baking powder .
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg .
  • 1 tsp baking soda .
  • 1 c pumpkin (NOT pie mix) .
  • 1 c water .
  • 4 eggs .
  • 3 c granulated sugar

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat the oven to 325F degrees F.
  • Step #2 Stir together the sugar, nutmeg, baking powder, oil, cloves, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, eggs, water & pumpkin, mixing well.
  • Step #3 Add the flour, two c at a time, mixing well.
  • Step #4 If using cranberries, add them, & mix well.
  • Step #5 Pour the batter into two 9" loaf pans, dividing evenly.
  • Step #6 Put in the oven, & bake for 1 hr & 45 mins, or until a toothpick in the center tests clean.
  • Step #7 Cool on a wire rack 10 mins before removing loaves from the pans.
  • Step #8 Cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
