Cheese Olive Balls Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 tsp hot pepper sauce (your favorite) .
  • 1/2 c butter .
  • 2 c shredded cheddar cheese .
  • 40 large green pimento-stuffed olives .
  • 1 c all-purpose flour .
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin .
  • 1 tsp paprika

Directions
  • Step #1 In a medium-size bowl, cream butter.
  • Step #2 Mix in flour, cheese, paprika, cumin, & hot sauce.
  • Step #3 Cover up bowl & put in the fridge at least an hr.
  • Step #4 Dry olives on paper towels.
  • Step #5 With a ball of cheese mixture that is close in size to the olive, plop the olive in the center, work the mixture up around the olive, flatten the cheese mixture in your palm, & then very carefully roll it around between your palms.
  • Step #6 Make sure the cheese mixture completely seals in the olive.
  • Step #7 Repeat with remaining olives.
  • Step #8 Place the cheese-wrapped olives on a parchment-lined baking sheet & place this in freezer until frozen.
  • Step #9 If you are planning to bake as soon as possible, place this in the freezer for about 15 mins.
  • Step #10 Once frozen, you can store this in resealable plastic bags in the freezer until you are read to bake them.
  • Step #11 Preheat oven to 400F degrees F.
  • Step #12 Prior to baking, remove olive from the freezer & allow to stand at about room temp for approximately 15 min (while the oven is heating).
  • Step #13 Place olives on a baking sheet & bake for 15 mins.
  • Step #14 Remove from oven & let cool to slightly warm.
  • Step #15 Serve at about room temp to slightly warm.
