4 c miniature marshmallows or about 40 regular marshmallows
Directions
Step #1 Place a small lump of margarine into a paper towel & use to grease a 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan, then wipe the pan off with a dry paper towel.
Step #2 This will keep the bars from sticking to the pan when they are placed on it.
Step #3 Measure margarine into saucepan; melt over low heat/flame.
Step #4 Add marshmallows & cook, stirring constantly, until marshmallows are melted & mixture is very syrupy.
Step #5 Remove from heat.
Step #6 Add Rice Krispies cereal; stir until well-coated.
Step #7 Spread warm mixture in the greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan.
Step #8 Using waxed paper or buttered spatula press firmly into an even layer.
Step #9 (I normally use a butter knife to do this; dipping the knife into a glass of water every once in awhile will keep the Rice Krispies from sticking to it as you shove them into the pan)
Cut into squares when cool.
Step #10 (This is normally about 10 mins after placing the mixture into the pan.
Step #11 )
*Flavored marshmallows (usually the ones that are green, orange, etc.
Step #12 ) may be used to change the taste of your Treats just enough that it will be noticeable.
Step #13 **For Christmas, consider using the red & green colored Rice Krispies that normally are sold around Christmas time, to give your bars that festive holiday appearance.
