Rogene's County Stew Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c small shell pasta .
  • 1 c sliced carrots .
  • 1/2 tsp Italian spices .
  • parmesan cheese .
  • 1 tsp pepper .
  • 1/2 c celery, sliced .
  • 1 lb stew meat, cut into bite sized pieces .
  • 1/2 medium onion, sliced .
  • 4 c chicken broth .
  • 1/2 c white corn .
  • 3 potatoes, cubed .
  • 1 tsp salt .
  • 1/4 c butter or margarine .
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

Directions
  • Step #1 In a 5 qt dutch oven over med-heat/flame, melt butter.
  • Step #2 Saute onion & beef, cooking until onions are soft & the meat is brown.
  • Step #3 Add carrots, celery, potatoes, Italian seasonings, salt, pepper, garlic powder & chicken broth.
  • Step #4 Bring to a boil; cover reduce heat & let simmer about 2 hrs or until meat is very tender.
  • Step #5 Add pasta & corn; cook 10 mins or until pasta is tender.
  • Step #6 Ladle soup into bowls & garnish with Parmesan cheese if desired.
