Step #1 In a food processor/blender, puree onion with garlic.
Step #2 In a large bowl, mustard, salt, beef, breadcrumbs, chili sauce, hot pepper sauce, worcestershire, cumin, mix onion mixture, chickpeas, egg, pepper & parsley.
Step #3 Knead together lightly.
Step #4 Transfer to a 9 - 5 loaf pan & smooth top.
Step #5 Bake in at 350 oven for 45 mins or until meat thermometer inserted into centre of loaf reads at least 160°F.
Step #6 To prepare topping, mix chili sauce with mustard; spread over the loaf.
Step #7 Bake, uncovered for 30 mins.
Step #8 Note: For smaller portions, divide the loaf into 2 smaller loaf pans.
Step #9 Cooking time is the same.
Step #10 I used the food processor/blender to chop up the chickpeas.
Step #11 I am not a fan of store bought (dried out) bread crumbs, so I used 3 slices of flax seed bread.
Step #12 Regular or whole wheat bread could be used.
