Spinach Tomato Tortellini Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tsp minced garlic .
  • 1/4 c grated parmesan cheese .
  • 1 c sliced fresh spinach .
  • 2 tbsps all-purpose flour .
  • 1/4 tsp pepper .
  • 1/2 tsp salt .
  • 1 (14 1/2 oz) can tomatoes with onion & garlic .
  • 3/4 c milk .
  • 3/4 c heavy cream .
  • 1 1/2 tsps dried basil .
  • 1 (16 oz) package cheese tortellini

Directions
  • Step #1 Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
  • Step #2 Add the tortellini & cook this until tender, about 10 mins.
  • Step #3 While you get the tortellini going, pepper, spinach, salt, basil, mix the tomatoes, & garlic In a large-ish saucepan over med-heat/flame.
  • Step #4 Cook & stir until the mixture begins to bubble.
  • Step #5 In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, milk, & cream.
  • Step #6 Stir this mixture into the saucepan along with the Parmesan cheese.
  • Step #7 Heat through, then reduce heat to low, & let simmer until thick, about 2 mins.
  • Step #8 Drain the tortellini, but do not rinse, then pour them into the saucepan with the sauce.
  • Step #9 Stir to coat & serve.
