Chili By Lynette Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 large onions, sliced, about 1 1/2 to 2 c .
  • 5 tbsps chili powder .
  • 1 lb beef stew meat or sirloin, sliced into bite size pieces .
  • 1 (16 oz) can chili beans (optional) .
  • 1 (16 oz) can crushed tomatoes .
  • 1 1/2 tsps Worcestershire sauce .
  • 3 garlic cloves, crushed .
  • 3 celery ribs, sliced, about 1 1/2 to 2 c .
  • 1 tsp red pepper sauce .
  • 1 1/2 tsps sugar .
  • 1 lb hamburger or ground chuck .
  • Optional .
  • 1 (16 oz) can whole tomatoes, drained .
  • 3 tsps salt

Directions
  • Step #1 Cook & stir hamburger/ground chuck, stew/sirloin meat, onion & garlic In a large-ish dutch oven until meat is light brown & onions are tender.
  • Step #2 Drain grease from the pan.
  • Step #3 Stir in tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, salt, celery, sugar, chili powder, & pepper sauce.
  • Step #4 Heat to boiling; reduce heat.
  • Step #5 Cover up & let simmer for at least one hr, preferably two.
  • Step #6 If desired, add beans.
  • Step #7 Heat to boiling, reduce heat.
  • Step #8 Simmer until hot, about 15 mins.
  • Step #9 Serve topped with shredded cheese, & sour cream if desired.
