Country Style Green Beans Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 medium onion, cut into thin rings .
  • 8-10 slices bacon, sliced .
  • 1 (16 oz) bag frozen green beans, thawed or 2 (14 1/2 oz) cans green beans, drained .
  • 1/4 c white sugar .
  • 1/2 c apple cider vinegar

Directions
  • Step #1 In a cast iron skillet, brown bacon & onions until bacon is crispy.
  • Step #2 Remove bacon & onions with a slotted spoon & drain on paper towels.
  • Step #3 Reserve 1/4 c of pan drippings.
  • Step #4 In a small bowl, mix together vinegar & sugar; add to skillet.
  • Step #5 Bring to a boil, then add green beans.
  • Step #6 Reduce heat & let simmer 5 mins.
  • Step #7 Return bacon & onion mixture to the pan & heat through, about another 5 mins, stirring every once in awhile.
