Mary's Lazy Daisy Oatmeal Cake Recipe

Ingredients

1 c sugar .
1/2 tsp ginger .
1/2 c butter or margarine .
1 c quick oats .
1 tsp cinnamon .
2 eggs, well beaten .
1 tsp baking soda .
1 1/2 c flour .
1/2 c brown sugar .
1 c brown sugar .
3/4 c coconut, shredded .
1/4 tsp cloves .
1/2 tsp salt .
3 tbsps milk .
frosting .
1/3 c nuts, sliced .
1/2 tsp allspice .
1/4 c melted butter .
1 1/4 c boiling water .
1 tsp vanilla

Directions

Step #1 Combine oats, butter & boiling water.
Step #2 Set aside for 20 mins.
Step #3 Beat together the eggs, sugars & vanilla.
Step #4 Sift dry ingredients & add, along with the oats.
Step #5 to the sugar mixture.
Step #6 Beat well.
Step #7 Pour into a greased 9x13" baking dish.
Step #8 Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 mins.
Step #9 Cool for a few mins.
Step #10 Then mix frosting ingredients, spread on cake & place under broiler for 1 min or until frosting begins to bubble.
