Step #1 In a medium saucepan, bring 1 1/2 c water to a boil.
Step #2 Add rice & stir.
Step #3 Reduce heat, cover & let simmer for 20 mins.
Step #4 In another saucepan, 1 1/2 c milk, mix 1 1/2 c cooked rice, sugar & salt.
Step #5 Cook over med-heat/flame until thick & creamy, 15 to 20 mins.
Step #6 Stir in remaining 1/2 c milk, beaten egg & raisins.
Step #7 Cook 2 mins more, stirring constantly.
Step #8 Remove from heat, & stir in the butter & vanilla.
Step #9 Serve warm.
