Japanese Primavera Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (14 oz) can baby corn, drained & sliced .
  • 2 1/2 tsps cornstarch .
  • 2 tbsps sesame seeds, toasted .
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper .
  • CORNSTARCH MIXTURE .
  • 1/4 c oyster sauce .
  • boiling water, to cover .
  • 2 c broccoli florets .
  • FOR THE VEGETABLES .
  • 1/2 c water .
  • 9 oz rice vermicelli .
  • 2 c fresh mushrooms, sliced .
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil or cooking oil .
  • 1/4 c soy sauce .
  • 2 medium carrots, cut into matchsticks .
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder .
  • 6 oz fresh snow peas .
  • 4 tsps granulated sugar

Directions
  • Step #1 Cover up vermicelli with boiling water in large bowl.
  • Step #2 Let stand for 10 mins until softened.
  • Step #3 Drain.
  • Step #4 Set aside.
  • Step #5 Stir in 1/2 c of water into cornstarch in small bowl until smooth.
  • Step #6 Add next five ingredients, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, garlic powder & cayenne pepper.
  • Step #7 Stir.
  • Step #8 Set aside.
  • Step #9 FOR THE VEGETABLES: Heat wok or frying pan until hot.
  • Step #10 Add sesame oil or cooking oil.
  • Step #11 Add broccoli & carrot.
  • Step #12 Stir fry until tender crisp.
  • Step #13 Add remaining 4 ingredients.
  • Step #14 Stir fry for 2 mins.
  • Step #15 Stir cornstarch mixture.
  • Step #16 Stir in broccoli mixture until boiling & thickened.
  • Step #17 Server over vermicelli.
  • Step #18 Makes 10 c.
