Step #1 In a mixing bowl, cream shortening & brown sugar.
Step #2 Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Step #3 Combine water & coffee; set aside.
Step #4 Combine the flour, baking powder & baking soda; add to creamed mixture alternately with coffee.
Step #5 Stir in the chocolate chips.
Step #6 Refrigerate for 1 hr.
Step #7 Drop dough by rounded tbspfuls 2 in.
Step #8 apart onto greased baking sheets.
Step #9 Bake at 350 degrees F for 10-12 mins or until golden around the edges.
Step #10 Remove to wire racks.
