Chicken Tikka Masala Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsps paprika
  • 1/4 c sliced fresh cilantro
  • 2 tsps ground cumin
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tsps cayenne pepper
  • 2 tsps freshly ground black pepper
  • 3 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-size pieces
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, finely sliced
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp minced fresh ginger
  • 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 3 tsps salt, or to taste
  • 4 tsps salt, or to taste
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 c heavy cream
  • 4 long skewers
  • 2 tsps ground cumin
  • 1 c yogurt

Directions
  • Step #1 In a large bowl, cayenne, black pepper, ginger, mix yogurt, lemon juice, 2 tsps cumin, cinnamon, & 4 tsps salt.
  • Step #2 Stir in chicken, cover, & put in the fridge for 1 hr.
  • Step #3 Preheat a grill for high heat.
  • Step #4 Lightly oil the grill grate.
  • Step #5 Thread chicken onto skewers, & discard marinade.
  • Step #6 Grill until juices run clear, about 5 mins on each side.
  • Step #7 Melt butter in a large heavy skillet over med-heat/flame.
  • Step #8 Saute garlic & jalapeno for 1 min.
  • Step #9 Spice up with 2 tsps cumin, paprika, & 3 tsps salt.
  • Step #10 Stir in tomato sauce & cream.
  • Step #11 Simmer on low heat until sauce thickens, about 20 mins.
  • Step #12 Add grilled chicken, & let simmer for 10 mins.
  • Step #13 Transfer to a serving platter, & garnish with fresh cilantro.
