Fig And Walnut Brie Galette Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 egg, beaten .
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar .
  • 2 tbsps tawny port .
  • 1 tbsp butter .
  • 1/2 c dried mission figs, quartered .
  • 8 oz wheel brie cheese .
  • 1/2 c sliced walnuts .
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg .
  • 1 put in the fridged pie crust

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 400F degrees.
  • Step #2 In a medium skillet, melt butter over med-heat/flame.
  • Step #3 Add figs & walnuts & cook for 1 min.
  • Step #4 Add port & nutmeg & cook for 2 mins stirring every once in awhile.
  • Step #5 Add sugar, cook for 1 min.
  • Step #6 Remove from heat & cool slightly.
  • Step #7 Add 2 tbs beaten egg & mix well.
  • Step #8 On a floured parchment paper, lay pie crust flat.
  • Step #9 Cut the brie in half horizontally.
  • Step #10 Place the bottom layer of brie in the center of the pie crust & top this with half of the fig mixture.
  • Step #11 Replace top of brie & layer on the remaining fig mixture.
  • Step #12 Pull up crust over the sides of brie, leaving the filling exposed.
  • Step #13 Brush crust with remaining egg.
  • Step #14 Bake for 15-18 mins until crust is golden.
  • Step #15 Cool 10 mins & slice in wedges to serve.
