Valentine Berries And Cream Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 (3 oz) packages cream cheese, softened .
  • 1 1/2 c confectioners' sugar .
  • 8 (1 oz) semi-sweet chocolate baking squares .
  • 2 tbsps milk .
  • 1 1/2 c fresh strawberries, halved .
  • 1/4 c butter, softened .
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract .
  • 1 drop red food coloring .
  • 1 tbsp shortening .
  • 2 1/2 c heavy whipping cream, whipped, divided .
  • 1/3 c baking cocoa

Directions
  • Step #1 Line a 9-in.
  • Step #2 heart-shaped or square baking pan with foil wrap; set aside.
  • Step #3 In a large heavy saucepan over low heat/flame, melt chocolate & shortening; stir until smooth.
  • Step #4 Pour into prepared pan, swirling to coat the bottom & 1-1/2 inches up the sides.
  • Step #5 Refrigerate for 1 min, then swirl the chocolate to reinforce sides of heart or box.
  • Step #6 Refrigerate for 30 mins or until firm.
  • Step #7 Using foil wrap, lift from pan; remove foil wrap & place chocolate heart on a serving plate.
  • Step #8 In a large mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese & butter until smooth.
  • Step #9 Combine confectioners' sugar & cocoa; add to creamed mixture with milk & vanilla.
  • Step #10 Beat until smooth.
  • Step #11 Add 1 drop of red food coloring if you want a pink tint to the top.
  • Step #12 Gently fold two-thirds of the whipped cream into cream cheese mixture.
  • Step #13 Spoon into heart.
  • Step #14 Insert star tip #32 into a pastry or plastic bag; fill with the remaining whipped cream.
  • Step #15 Pipe around the edge of heart.
  • Step #16 Garnish with strawberries.
