Sooz's "homemade" Salsa Recipe

Ingredients
  • fresh cilantro (I use about three handfuls, stems & all) .
  • 1 large yellow sweet onion (quartered) .
  • 1 (14 1/2 oz) can stewed tomatoes .
  • 1 lime, juice of .
  • 2-3 tsps salt (I like it salty so use 3) .
  • 1 (14 1/2 oz) can sliced tomatoes .
  • 1 (29 oz) can crushed tomatoes .
  • 1 (7 oz) can jalapenos (for medium salsa, less for mild, more for hot) .
  • 1 (14 1/2 oz) can sliced tomatoes with green chilies

Directions
  • Step #1 This recipe makes a big batch (about 80 oz.
  • Step #2 ), so put several of the items above in a food processor/blender & mix until fairly smooth.
  • Step #3 Dump the contents of the food processor/blender into a very large bowl & stir until mixed.
  • Step #4 Store in individual Mason jars or large plastic containers with lids.
  • Step #5 If you want this spicier, you can use a couple of Chipotle Chilies in Adobo sauce.
  • Step #6 This adds a smoky, spicy taste to the salsa.
