Whole Grain Sprout Bread Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsps active dry yeast .
  • 1/2 c oil .
  • 3-4 c flour (any combination) .
  • 1 tbsp salt .
  • 2 c grain mixed sprouts (whole or lightly ground) .
  • 2 1/2 c warm water .
  • 1/2 c honey .
  • 4 c flour (any combo of wheat, rye & white you like)

Directions
  • Step #1 To soften yeast:.
  • Step #2 Combine In a large-ish bowl:.
  • Step #3 2 1/2 c warm water.
  • Step #4 2 scant Tbs.
  • Step #5 active dry yeast.
  • Step #6 Allow the yeast to proof (bubble) for 5 mins.
  • Step #7 Stir in:.
  • Step #8 1/2 c oil.
  • Step #9 1/2 c honey.
  • Step #10 1 Tbs.
  • Step #11 salt.
  • Step #12 2 c sprouted grains, whole or ground lightly.
  • Step #13 4 c flour (any combo of wheat, rye & white you like) Beat well.
  • Step #14 Cover up & let this “sponge” sit 45-60 mins.
  • Step #15 Stir down & slowly add:.
  • Step #16 3-4 c flour (any combination).
  • Step #17 Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface & knead until smooth.
  • Step #18 Place dough into a greased bowl, turn it over & around to coat all of the dough.
  • Step #19 Cover up & let rise until doubled (60-90 mins).
  • Step #20 Knead dough down in the bowl, divide & shape into 2-3 oblong loaves.
  • Step #21 Place in well greased loaf pans & cover.
  • Step #22 Let rise 60 mins or until almost doubled.
  • Step #23 Bake at 375º for 35 to 40 mins.
  • Step #24 Remove loaves from pans & cool on wire racks.
